This is a documentary photography project capturing the lives of long-term Russian residents in Phuket, presented in the form of a photographic book through a series of non-linear narratives. The project primarily focuses on young Russians who have escaped the ravages of war and military service in their homeland. For them, Phuket has transformed from a brief escape to a vacation paradise into a foreign land where they establish prolonged residence. The cold childhood is intertwined with the reality of the heat, and the humidity is no longer an imagination. Through images, I endeavor to explore the melancholic sense of homesickness, seeking to understand the profound connection between migrants and the distant lands they once called home.
